Dietary Delights: Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-Free Options at Driftwood

At Driftwood Bar and Grill in Novi, we understand that dietary needs shouldn’t limit your dining experience. Overlooking the beautiful Walled Lake, our menu has a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.  Many dishes can be easily customized to suit your preferences. Whether you’re plant-based, avoiding gluten, or just looking for lighter fare, our kitchen uses fresh ingredients to create flavorful meals that everyone can enjoy. Let’s explore some highlights from our menu that cater to these lifestyles.

Fresh and Vibrant Salads

Our Grand Salads section is a haven for those seeking nutritious, diet-friendly choices. Packed with fresh greens and veggies, this makes them ideal for vegetarians and vegans alike:

  • She’s Nuts Berry Salad: A spring mix loaded with dried cranberries, raisins, glazed walnuts, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, red onions, and bleu cheese crumbles, tossed in low-fat raspberry vinaigrette. It’s naturally vegetarian and gluten-free. Then, for a vegan version, simply omit the bleu cheese.
  • Greek Salad: Chopped romaine with tomatoes, red onions, black olives, pepperoncini, beets, and feta cheese, served with Nikki’s Greek dressing. Vegetarian and gluten-free as is – skip the feta for vegan.
  • The Big Salad: Fresh romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, Italian croutons, and cheddar jack cheese. Again, vegetarian by default; make it gluten-free by omitting the croutons and vegan by skipping the cheese.

Also, standouts like the Grand Avocado Salad – romaine with avocado slices, cheese, black olives, tomatoes, and sour cream in avocado dressing (omit dairy for vegan) – and the Caesar Salad,Caesar salad adapted to accommodate patrons can be adapted similarly.

Entrées and Handhelds for Every Diet

In addition, we’ve got hearty mains and sandwiches that we’ll tailor to your needs:

  • The Impossible Burger: A plant-based quarter-pound patty that tastes incredibly like the real thing, topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, secret seasoning, and a brioche bun. Fully vegan; request a gluten-free bun or go bunless for gluten-free.
  • Korean Beef Bulgogi Bowl (Modified): Sautéed in Korean Bulgogi sauce over basmati rice, accompanied by cucumbers, shredded carrots, steamed broccoli, and a sprinkle of everything seasoning. Furthermore, omit the beef for a delicious vegan and gluten-free bowl.

From our Hard to Handle section, the Kickin’ Avocado Amish Chicken is made vegan by skipping the chicken, resulting in a delicious sandwich with fresh avocado, tomatoes, and spicy mayo. Similarly, the Real BLT becomes vegan without the bacon, on grilled sourdough (request gluten-free bread if needed).

Customizing for Your Needs

Many of our dishes, like the Julienne Salad or Fly Southwest Salad, can be modified by omitting meats, cheeses, or croutons to fit vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diets. At the Driftwood Our team is always happy to accommodate. Be sure to let your server know about any allergies or preferences, and we’ll make it work.
